लोगों द्वारा मुझे इस भूमि के अतिउच्च पद के लिए चुन के मुझमें जो विश्वास दिखाया हैं उससे मैं घबराया हुआ हूँ |

उन्होंने ज्ञान और सत्य की खोज में अपने जीवन को समर्पित कर दिया था |

उन्होंने शायद औरों से ज्यादा भारतीय दार्शनिक सोच और सभी धार्मिक मूल्यों में एकता को व्याख्या करने में काम किया है |

उन्होंने मानव के जरुरी मानवता में अपना विश्वास कभी नहीं खोया है

और उन्होंने स्वंम मनुष्य की गरिमा और न्याय के साथ रहने का अधिकार का साथ देश नहीं छोड़ा |

मैने अभी-अभी भारतीय संविधान के प्रति वकादर होने की शपथ ली है |
It is the constitution of a comparatively new state.
ये औरों के तुलना में नए गणराज्य की संविधान है |
Which its free citizens have, for the first time in history given to themselves.
जो उनके स्वतंत्र नागरिक को इतिहास में पहली बार दिया गया है |
It is the young state of an ancient people
यह प्राचीन लोगों की नई राज्य है |
Who, through the long millennia and through the co-operation of diverse ethnic elements, have striven to realize timeless, absolute values in their own peculiar way.
जो विभिन्न जातीय तत्वों के सहयोग से लम्बे समयों होते हुए अपने-अपने अनोखे अंदाज में कड़ी मेहनत से अनंत तथा पूर्ण मूल्य को साकार करने का प्रयास किया
I pledge myself to the service of those values.
मैं स्वंम से उन मूल्यों की सेवा की शपथ लेता हूँ |
For, though some concrete realization of a value may become inadequate with the change of circumstance,
क्योंकि यद्यपि किसी मूल्य के कुछ दोष अनुभव की प्राप्तियाँ परिस्थिति में बदलाव के साथ अप्रर्याप्त हो जाए |
The value remains eternally valid and presses for newer and fresher realization.
मूल्य हमेशा के लिए वैध रहता है और नये तथा ताजे प्राप्ति के लिए दबाव बनाता है |
The past is not dead and static,
अतीत नहीं मरता और न ही गतिहीन होता है,
It is alive and dynamic and is involved in determining the quality of our present and the prospect of our future.
ये जीवित और गतिशील है और ये वर्तमान की गुणवता तथा भविष्य की संभावना को निर्धारित करने में सहायक होता है |
Paragraph – 4
The process of its constant renewal is, Indeed, the process of growth of national culture and national character.
इसकी लगातार नवीनीकरण की प्रकिया, वास्तव में, राष्ट्रीय संस्कृति और राष्ट्र प्रतिष्ठा के विकास की प्रकिया है |
It is the business of education, as I see it,
जैसा कि में देखता हूँ यह शिक्षा का व्यापार है |
to minister this constant renewal, and I may be forgiven the presumption that my choice to this high office has mainly, is not entirely, been made on account of my long association with the education of my people.
मंत्री के लिए इस लगातार नवीनीकरणीय ओर मुझे माफ कर दिया जाए यदि मैं इस पूर्वाग्रह पर गलत हूँ की मेरा चुनाव इस ऊच्च पद के लिए पूर्णत: नहीं तो कम-से-कम मुख्यत: अपने लोगों के साथ शिक्षा के लिए लम्बे समय तक जुड़े रहने के आधार पर किया गया है |
I maintain that education is a prime Instrument of national purpose and that quality of education is inescapably involved in the quality of the nation.
मेरा मानना है कि शिक्षा राष्ट्र उद्येश्य की प्राप्ति का मुख्य हथियार है और कि उस शिक्षा की गुणवता अनिवार्य रूप से राष्ट्र की गुणवता का भागीदार है |
Paragraph – 5
I, their fore, pledge myself to the loyalty of our past culture from where so ever it may have come and by whomsoever it may have been contributed.
मै, इसलिए, स्वंम की वफादारी का वचन देता हूँ कि हमारी अतीत संस्कृति जहाँ कही सेभी आई है और जिस किसी ने भी योगदान दिया हो |
I pledge myself to the service of the totality to my country’s culture.
मैं अपने देश की संस्कृति का पूर्णरूप से सेवा करने का वचन देता हूँ |
I pledge my loyalty to my country,
मैं अपने वफादारी को अपने देश के पास गिरवी रखता हूँ
Irrespective of religion or language; I pledge myself to word for its strength and progress and for the welfare of its people without distinction of caste, colour, or creed.
धर्म और भाषा के परवाह किये बिना, में स्वंम वचन देता हूँ कि बिना किसी नस्ल, रंग जाति की श्रेष्ठता के भेद-भाव किये बिना भारत के लोगों के कल्याण के लिए इसके विकास और मजबूती के लिए काम करूँगा |
The whole Bharat is my home and its people are my family.
पूरा भारत मेरा घर तथा इसके सभी लो मेरा परिवार है |
The people have chosen to make me the head of this family for a certain time.
लोगों ने मुझे कुछ ही समय के लिए इस परिवार के मुखिया के तौर पर चुना है |
It shall be my earnest endeavour to seek to make this home strong and beautiful,
मेरा अथक प्रयास इस घर को मजबूत और खूबसूरत बनाने की तलाश में होगा
A worthy home for great people engaged in the fascinating task of building up a just and prosperous and graceful life.
महान लोगों के लिए मूल्यवान आशा, समृद्ध और सौन्दर्य जीवन बनाने के आकर्षक कार्य में व्यस्त रहूँगा |
Paragraph – 6
The family is big and is constantly growing at a rather inconveniently fast pace.
यह परिवार बड़ा है और असुविधाजनक तेजी से बढ़ते जा रहा है |
We shall, each one of us, have to participate unsparingly in boiling its new life, each in his own way.
हमलोगों में से प्रत्येक को अपनी तरह से इसके नवजीवन को संवारने के लिए निर्दयतापूर्वक सरष्ती से भाग लेना पड़ेगा |
For the sheer size the tasks ahead of us one so demanding that no one can afford to shit back and just watch or let frustration become endemic in our country.
क्योंकि बड़ा-सा कार्य के लिए जो हमारे आगे है इतना आवश्यक है की कोई भी हाथ पर हाथ रककर बैठ देख नहीं सकता या निराशा को अपने देश में स्थानिय नहीं होने दे सकता |
The situation demands of us work, work and more work, silent and sincere work, solid and steady reconstruction of the whole material and cultural life of our people.
स्थिति की हमलोगों से मांग है काम, काम और काम करें, चुपचाप और इमानदारी से काम करें, हमारे लोगों के सांस्कृतिक जीवन और पूरे तथ्यों के पुनर्निमार्ण के लिए दोस और लगातार काम करें |
Paragraph – 7
This work, as I see it, has two aspects; work on one’s self and work for the society around.
जैसा कि मैं देखता हूँ इस कार्य का दो पहलू है? अपने लिए काम करो और अपने आसपास के समाज के लिए काम करो |
They are a mutually fruitful aspect of work,
परस्पर ये दोनों कामों के आपस में लाभदायक स्वरूप है |
The work on one’s self is to follow the urge towards moral development as a free person and under self-imposed discipline, which alone can render that development possible.
खुद पर काम करना नैतिक विकास को अनुकरन करने का प्रेरित करना है | जैसा कि एक स्वतंत्र व्यक्ति अपने अंदर स्वंम पर अनुशासन लागू किया जो अकेले उस विकास को संभव बनाने में साथ देगा |
It’s the end product is a free moral personality.
इसका अंतिम परिणाम स्वतंत्र नौतिक व्यक्तित्व है |
We can neglect the end product only at our peril.
हम इस अंतिम परिणाम को अपने जिखिम पर नजर अंदाज कर सकते है |
This end-product cannot sustain itself without seeking and exercising itself to bring about the approximation of the society to which it is privileged to serve to a better, juster, and a more graceful way of life.
यह अंतिम परिणाम स्वंम को सहन नहीं कर सकता जबतक समाज को समीप लाने के लिए खुद में खोजने और अभ्यास करने की कोशीश न की जाए | जो सक अच्छा, एक न्यायसंगत, एक जीवन के सुन्दर आचरण से गौरवन्तित हो
The individual cannot grow to full perfection without a corresponding advance of the collective social existence.
सामूहिक सामाजिक पूर्णता की उनति के अनुरूपता के बगैर एक व्यक्ति प्रवीणता तक नै पहुँच सकता
Let us resolve to get the whole heartedaly engaged in these two aspects of working individual and social.
व्यक्तिगत और सामाजिक दोनों पहलूओं को हल करने में चलो हम पूरे मन से लग जाए |
Paragraph – 8
This dual effort will give the life of our state a special flabour.
यह दोहरी प्रयास हमारी देश के जीवन में एक विशेष खुशवू देगी |
For the state to us will not be just an organization of power but a moral organization.
क्योंकि एक देश हमारे लिए सिर्फ एक शक्ति का व्यवस्थापन बन नहीं होगा बल्कि एक नौतिकता का संगठन भी होगा |
It is part of national temperament and inheritance from the great leader of our liberation movement,
यह हमारे स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन के महान नेता (महात्मा गाँधी) से राष्ट्रीय मिजाज, प्रकृति तथा पैतृक घन का एक भाग है |
Muhamed Gandhi. that pour should be used only for a moral purpose.
महात्मा गाँधी, उस शक्ति का उपयोग केवल नौतिक उद्येश्य के लिए होना चाहिए |
The peace of the strong is what we shall dedicate ourselves to work for.
शांति की दृढ़ता यही है कि हमलोग अपने-आप में क्या करने की निश्चय करेंगे |
Paragraph – 9
I have full faith in my people that they will bring forth the energy required for the satisfactory performance of this dual-task.
मुझे अपने लोगों पर पूर्ण विश्वाय है कि इस दोहरे कार्यों के जरुरी संतोषजनक प्रदर्शन के लिए आगे आएँगे |
It shall be my privilege to contribute my share to this enchanting enterprise.
यह मेरा स्वभाग होगा कि में इस लुभाने वाली संस्था (जिसमें खतरा हो) के योगदान का हिस्सा बनूगा |
