Solution:

Using identity:

\[ \left(x+\frac{1}{x}\right)^2 = x^2 + \frac{1}{x^2} + 2 \]

\[ (11)^2 = x^2 + \frac{1}{x^2} + 2 \]

\[ 121 = x^2 + \frac{1}{x^2} + 2 \]

\[ x^2 + \frac{1}{x^2} = 121 – 2 \]

\[ = 119 \]
